However, the biggest escape they had was with their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward suffered discomfort in his neck after he collided with the Persepolis goalkeeper.
Manager Luis Castro speaking on the injury, said, “The medical staff will study Cristiano’s injury. The medical staff will do its job of recovering and making him ready for the next match.”
At the moment, the statement from the boss indicates that CR7 has not suffered a serious injury. When he was leaving the field, the Portuguese forward did not look too uncomfortable. The medical team also provided him with immediate assistance as he came off the field. The decision to substitute him has turned out to be a smart move by the manager. It is because their next match is a very important one.
