New Leads After TV Appeal

February 2024 · 2 minute read

Police investigating the murder of a father of two in Sittingbourne say they've had a good response to a televised appeal for information.

They had twenty-two calls from the public after featuring interviews with Adrian Milner's family, and CCTV footage of the 48 year old's final movements. They say they are now looking into possible new leads.

Adrian Milner died in hospital twelve days after being punched in an unprovoked attack as walked along Church Street in Murston with a friend on 28th December. The force of the blow made him fall to the ground and hit the back of his head on the pavement.

Last month Heart spoke to Mr Milner's brother Duncan as he made an emotional appeal to help find Adrian's killer.

He told us "We just want justice for Ada so he can rest in peace. We want the man responsible for the attack to come forward, as we have not been able to move on from this, knowing that the offender is still out there and able to continue his life as if nothing has happened.

"Adrian’s death has brought much sorrow and heartache to the whole family and his absence has left a big hole in our lives. We love him and miss him so much.”

Police have released new CCTV images of men they want to speak in connection with the investigation. They are shown at a shop near where Adrian was attacked.

Detective Inspector Lee Whitehead of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate’s Major Crime said: "I would urge people to study the images closely to see if they recognise those in the photos.

Alternatively, those pictured may wish to contact us themselves to rule themselves out of the enquiry.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate on 01622 654852 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

A 35-year-old man bailed in connection with the investigation has been released without charge. A 30-year-old Sittingbourne man remains on bail.
