His role in the hit HBO series marked the acting debut for the 23-year-old Oakland native, with Cloud revealing in an interview with GQ that he was originally supposed to be killed off in Season 1.

The actor revealed that series creator Sam Levinson ultimately changed his mind and brought Fezco back, making him the centerpiece of the Season 2 premiere.

Cloud revealed in the new GQ interview, 'I don't know, but apparently, because they cast me off the street, I guess the character of Fezco was [never meant to stick around]. I don't even know how. I never saw that script. No one ever told me.'

'It was one day when we were filming the pilot that I think Jacob told me, he was like, 'Oh yeah, you didn't know? Your character gets [imitates brains getting blown out]," Cloud said.

Cloud speculated that creator Levinson, 'liked what I did' enough to make him a recurring member of the cast, which paid off in a big way in the Season 2 premiere.

The threat lead to Nate calling the cops on Fezco and his drug-dealing partner Ashtray (Javon Walton), though they managed to escape, though that would have been another prime area to kill off the character, had Levinson chosen to do so.

Nearly two years later, the Season 2 premiere aired on Sunday night, opening in quite the surprising fashion - revealing how Fezco was raised by his gangster grandma (Katherine Narducci).

It also reveals how Ashtray was essentially abandoned and used as collateral for a drug deal and much more, before the show returns to present day at a New Year's Eve party.

The end of the episode showed Fezco appearing to try and bury the hatchet with Nate, but instead he hit him over the head with a bottle and pummeled him mercilessly.

Cloud said he was 'super juiced up' and 'fired up' while reading the script for the premiere, but the scene where he beat up Nate wasn't that fun.

'It was a hard scene to shoot, man. A lot of broken bottles and a lot of different movements,' Cloud revealed.

'I was swinging my fist for like three hours. My arm was sore as s**t, man. I swear to God, my whole shoulder, just from swinging fake air punches that weren't even hitting anything,' he added.

As for the rest of the season, Cloud teased viewers will see a different side of Fez, which was teased earlier in the episode in his conversations with Lexi (Maude Apatow).

'I'm excited for y'all to see how he kind of comes out of his hard shell a little bit and he kind of exposes his softer side,' Cloud added.
