May 2024 · 3 minute read

While fitness and bodybuilding may sound like a lucrative career option now, back in the 90s, athletes used to take this road purely out of passion and love for the sport and not monetary benefits. However, with the rise of the internet, things took a turn as the concept of brand deals, sponsorships, and earnings through social media came into the picture. However, among the few legendary bodybuilders who made a fortune out of the sport because of their accomplishments and fame, is 8X Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman

With years of hard work and determination in the sport, Coleman became a popular name in the bodybuilding sphere. Unfortunately, despite earning millions, he had to spend millions on his treatment and surgeries. Recently, a video has resurfaced on YouTube where Coleman announced his will to sell his house and a few other possessions. As some of the fans believe Coleman has gone broke, others think that he might be just relocating to a different home.

Ronnie Coleman sells his most prized possessions

A few months back, Coleman decided to sell his house, which was based in Texas at a whopping $495,000. Along with the house, he announced that he would be selling a few other possessions as well including his home gym equipment, a few video games, and some pairs from his Jordan collection as well. In an earlier Instagram post, he also announced an open house where he revealed that he would be signing autographs for the first ten people who came out as well.

Coleman stated in the resurfaced video, “I am selling my house. One of my most prized possessions and I am also selling the equipment in my home gym. And I’m hoping you guys can see this. I have some Jordans I’m also selling.” Adding to this, he said, “I Have a video game I’m selling, decline bench. I have dumbbells all the way up to 200 pounds. You can let me know if you guys want to bid on any of this.”

After coming across the resurfaced video, fans had a mixed reaction to this. Let’s take a look at what the viewers had to say about this.

Coleman’s announcement triggered the fans to give their verdict

While the caption of the video had an uncertain tone about whether Coleman is broke or just selling the house because of some other reasons, fans put their thinking caps on and debated about the issue. “We need to support the king,” wrote one of the users. While another person argued such comments and wrote, “He’s NOT broke everyone. He’s moving houses. He’s a family man, doesn’t need the personal gym and shoes that he’s owned for years.”

“I summon the internet, to help rise this man from the ashes!!!!,” another comment read, while another user stated, “ronnie will never go broke, hes just so humble hes not gonna do some youtuber type of commercial for selling memorabilia.” Another concerned user pointed out, “He has tears in his eyes…so sorry to hear Ronnie. It must be the medical bills stacking up.”
