Aside from the fact that they make great stocking fillers or Secret Santa gifts, slipper socks are actually pretty essential this year. Yep, they have taken up a permanent residence in our nightwear wardrobes as of late, and we bet you can guess as to why. Clue: it's FREEZING, and it's only going to get worse.
Regular slippers (the sturdier kind of at-home footwear) haven't gone anywhere, it's just that we'll be doing anything other than cranking the heating up to keep warm. Instead, layering is key. Slipper socks are that in-between layer you never knew you needed. You know the ones: thicker than the cute socks that already reside in your top drawer, lined with a fluffy fabric (like our fave fleece lined leggings), and often finished with non-slip grips on the bottom to minimise accidents on hard floors.
We're all about comfort over everything else these days, especially as winter draws nearer and all those Netflix marathons begin to call. Granted slipper socks aren't the chicest of accessories to own - and probably aren't the first thing you'll think of pairing with your luxury pyjamas - but, when you're WFH and no one on Zoom can see below your waist, who cares?
